The Discoverer SRX, much like all other new tires produced by Cooper, is outfitted with maintenance indications that signal to the driver when it is time to replace the tread on the tires. If the tire doesn’t have enough tread on it, the vehicle’s wet traction and grip will be significantly reduced. When it rains heavily, the problem becomes even more severe because the tires will have little resistance to hydroplaning. In addition, if the tread is insufficient, the tire will have no grip all in light snow. This tire, much like most others, has a minimum tread depth of 2/32 of an inch.
Wear Square Indicators is what Cooper refers to as their technology. To put it simply, the tread pattern on the tire features a series of little rubber inserts that are inserted into the circumferential grooves. Rubber inserts are hidden within the tire’s circumferential grooves when it is brand new, and one must examine the tire very carefully in order to locate them.
The Wear Square Indicators, on the other hand, will become more noticeable when the tread of the tire wears down. After the tread has been worn down to a depth of 2/32 of an inch, the wear indicators will be fully flush with the tread of the tire.

When driving on dry roads, the overall performance of the Cooper Discoverer SRX is excellent, especially considering the price point of the vehicle.
How is it over wet and slippery roads?
Fortunately, the increased number of sipes compared to the earlier model (185%) shows up in the real world. Given the competitive price point, the Discoverer SRX stands out as one of the best tires for handling wet and slick roads while maintaining a high level of safety.

With that being said, how is it on snowy roads?
Despite the fact that it is an all-season tire, the Discoverer SRX is not one that we recommend for use in severe winter conditions. The tire does not have the maximum traction necessary for driving on snow, and it cannot be utilized at all on ice. In these situations, braking is significantly impaired, and it is also difficult to maintain control of the vehicle.
You can use these tires even if there is a light coating of snow on the road, but even then, the premium competition delivers better performance. Is it comfortable and refined?
