Pros
- Superior ride comfort
- Quiet ride
- Good all-season handling
Hello, and thank you for checking out this evaluation of the Hankook Kinergy GT! To tell you the truth, the Hankook Kinergy GT is a bit of a mystery. Due to the fact that these tires are original equipment on some Honda, Volkswagen, Kia, and Hyundai vehicles, their effectiveness in all weather conditions is excellent. But the Kinergy GT has a slightly higher price tag when contrasted with the other all-season touring tires that Hankook offers in their product range.
Why is that the case? When compared to the Hankook Optimo H724, the Kinergy GT is considered to be what Hankook refers to as a premium grand touring tire, which is where the GT designation comes from. This indicates that the Kinergy GT was primarily developed with the intention of providing the following three primary benefits: exceptional driving comfort, a silent journey, and excellent treadwear.
The Hankook Kinergy GT is also available in diameters ranging from 15 inches to 19 inches, making it suitable for a broad variety of uses. In contrast to the Hankook Optimo H724, the Kinergy GT is designed to work with a wider range of vehicles, including both compact cars and bigger midsize sedans. It is also an excellent option for crossovers of smaller and midsize sizes, as well as expensive minivans.
What vehicles are perfect for the Hankook Kinergy GT?
The Volkswagen Golf and Jetta, the Honda Civic, Accord, and CR-V, the Toyota Corolla and Yaris, the Hyundai Elantra, Sonata, and Tucson, and the Kia Rio, Optima, and Sportage are all excellent candidates for the Hankook Kinergy GT tires.
The Kia Sedona, Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Honda Odyssey are all examples of quality minivans that are suitable for installation of the Hankook Kinergy GT tire.

What are the features of the Hankook Kinergy GT?
The conventional pattern design of the Hankook Kinergy GT is not what sets this tire apart from the competition. A tread substance that contains silica is used in the construction of the tire. Because of this, the rubber is capable of providing high amounts of traction in all types of driving conditions, including driving on snowy and icy roads. The symmetric five-rib tread pattern may appear like an ordinary pattern, but the treads are actually intended to efficiently displace water in order to deliver reliable handling on wet and slushy pavement.
The traction, braking performance, and acceleration capabilities of the vehicle are all designed to benefit from the rigid central rib. In addition to that, it features numerous tread sipes that have chamfered edges in order to offer the best possible grip and traction in any weather condition.
The Hankook Kinergy GT is built with a full-width nylon reinforcement and two larger steel belts during the construction process. This makes the tire more durable and increases its resilience to heat, which results in a ride that is both safer and more stable. In addition, the body casing of the tire features a polyester cord and a jointless bead wire, both of which work to further enhance the tire’s comfort and its overall handling.
How does it perform on dry roads?
When driving on dry roadways, the Hankook Kinergy GT proves to be a reliable performer. In comparison to the performance of other tires in the same category, the stopping and handling felt satisfactory. On the other hand, if you are looking for a tire that will allow you to travel quickly or if you have a sports car or sports sedan, you should look elsewhere. The tire does not have sufficient amounts of grip to effectively harness the twisting forces produced by a more powerful motor. In light of the aforementioned, if you are driving the vehicle beyond its capabilities, you will notice that the tires are shaking. To make the tires lose their composure, however, you will need to do a significant amount of damage to the vehicle’s equilibrium. This is a remarkable fact.
Is the tire applicable for wet weather driving?
Yes. If you look carefully, you’ll notice that almost all of the features included in the Hankook Kinergy GT are designed to improve the vehicle’s performance when driving in the rain. The high-grip silica compound was developed specifically to enhance traction on roadways that are either snowy or wet. The same is true for the numerous tread sipes and the sizable circumferential grooves found on the tire. The previously mentioned sipes are similar to teeth and provide improved traction on roadways that are icy or slippery. On the other hand, if you travel quickly over pavement that is covered with water, the braking performance and handling will be negatively impacted. However, just like when you’re driving in dry conditions, you’ll need to give the vehicle a significant amount of throttle before the tires start to wiggle and find the necessary grip.
How about on snowy roads?
Tires designed for all seasons should also function well when there is light snow. The Hankook Kinergy GT is not the greatest option for driving on roads that are covered in snow, but it does perform quite well over very light snow or ice. Do not, however, anticipate that the tires will be able to propel your vehicle through thick snow. It is highly recommended that you give some serious thought to purchasing a set of snow tires if you reside in a region that experiences a significant quantity of snowfall during the winter season.
Grand touring tires are supposed to deliver better ride comfort, right?
Yes! Regarding the level of comfort it provides, the Hankook Kinergy GT does not disappoint in any way. In point of fact, I’d say that this is one of the driving tires that offers the highest level of comfort among those that I’ve tried so far. There will be no disruption to the level of comfort experienced inside the interior as a result of the tires’ ability to move over rough pavement and potholes with ease. But if there is one thing that could be improved about the tire, it would have to be the level of comfort experienced at fast speeds. The tires perform exceptionally well at velocities ranging from moderate to high. However, if you travel at a speed that is greater than the permitted limit, the tires will experience a degree of increased jarring, particularly when traveling over rough asphalt or concrete roadways.
How about the road noise?
The Hankook Kinergy GT is distinguished by this quality above all others as the one that stands out as the most significant. Even when traveling at greater speeds on the highway, the tires will still maintain their ghostly lack of noise, making them ideal for use in urban environments. On the other hand, similar to the travel comfort, you should anticipate an increase in the roar of the tires as the speed increases. This is not always a negative thing, especially considering that cheaper tires will most likely make more noise even when traveling at lower speeds.

Should I buy the Hankook Kinergy GT?
Absolutely! The majority of people who own cars won’t really mind the higher price tag of the Hankook Kinergy GT because of the all-season traction and the convenience it provides. However, if you are working with a limited spending capacity, it is possible that this tire is not the best option for you.
On the other hand, the Hankook Kinergy GT is an outstanding option in terms of both its all-weather traction and its driving comfort. In addition to providing a greater level of comfort, it happens to have superior performance when compared to a conventional touring tire.
